Petit Pont' a very private location, is in the hamlet of Ligne, a commune of St Valerien. The House is set in 1.5 Hectares (3.6 acres) of wooded land, with a small lake of around half an acre (fish and ducks - cooling swim in Summer), traditional Boulle court (Petanc). The property is surrounded by farmland, some small vineyards, small forests, valleys and hills. The closest Chateaux is L'Hermenault 4km away, closest winery is in Pissote around 8km. The closest large town is Fontenay le Comte (17km) with a lovely Saturday market and second is Ste Hermine with a Friday market. In Thire, just 3km away is a lovely French / Italian Pizza Bar (Laly Bar). The small city of La Rochelleis 55km away (excellent shopping here!) and a Parisien weekend 'bolt hole', comparable to Cowes in England or Newport Rhode Island, in the USA (A serious yachting center of France). La Rochelle is served by Ryanair, Flybe and EasyJet.
Wines Regions: Muscadet Region to the North; Bordeaux - St.Emillion, Blaye to the South. Cognac to the South. All within 1 to 2 hours drive.
